This year’s Miami Dade College Earth Ethics Institute Student Art Sale features a collection of amazing drawings and paintings donated by Fall 2015 term ART1300 students. All sales of these pieces directly benefit the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center, it’s patients, and it’s permanent residents. The images are the product of a semester-long Service Learning Project that began with a visit to our Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary. During the visit, students shot source photos and made sketches to worked from when they returned to the MDC Wolfson campus. While the subject matter directly depicts the native and migratory birds treated at the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center, the content expresses each individual student’s response in creating awareness about local fauna protection and celebrating the diverse species found in Florida.
