Intern’s Perspective – Michael

Posted by:

Working at the Florida Keys Wild Bird Sanctuary has been a great opportunity for me. Working here I have learned a lot of skills that will help me along the way to my career in wildlife management. I will be in my 5th and final year of school at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. There I have taken plenty of classes in wildlife management, but haven’t gotten as much hands on experience as I would like. At the sanctuary I am able to get the hands on experience I would like and also a great deal of knowledge of the wildlife rehab side as well as building relationships with some of the birds here. I have really enjoyed my time here I wish it wasn’t so hot.
